Ontario, Alberta and British-Columbia)
The Roaming
Service is also available elsewhere in Canada, the United-States
and everywhere else in the cities of the world for a minimal fee.

much does this service cost?
Free
on TELUS' territory (Québec,
Ontario, Alberta and British-Columbia)
Outside of the territory, this service is invoiced according to
usage (divided by the minute)

United-States:
$2.00 /hour.
- Anywhere
else in the world:
$8.00 /hour.
- Usage
of the 888 number (available in North-America):
$8.00 /hour.
- No subscription
fee.
Hourly rate
information is available in the Dial-up numbers downloadable software.
Prices do not include local or long-distance call fees that may
apply (to minimize costs, make sure that the number is actually
a local number). If no local number is offered in the region of
North-America where you are travelling, you may use the 888 number.
Globe
Trotter Access Numbers for the Roaming Service
To access the
service, all you need is a Globe Trotter access account and our
free downloadable software that contains the list of local numbers
for the major cities of the world.
You must know
the right number to connect to our network. To help you during your
travels, we supply you with a small downloadable software program
(PC
or Mac
version) that supplies you with the list of all the Globe Trotter
access telephone numbers. A useful tool that lets you quickly track
down the toll free local connection number. Before you leave, make
sure that you have downloaded the Dial-up numbers software (PC
or Mac
version) and that it is operational. Change your Dial-up number
for your Internet connection accordingly.
If you are
using the Roaming Service outside of TELUS' territory, you must
first register so that we can give you access and identify you
while you are roaming.

How
do I use the Roaming Service?
- To use the
Roaming Service, you must change your Internet Dial-up configuration
in the following manner:
- Click
here, if you are using if you are
using Windows Dial-up Networking (98, 2000, NT,
Millenium).
- Click
here, if you are using a Macintosh computer.
- You continue
using the same Internet tools, but you must make sure to add the
globetrotter.net domain name to your user name when you connect.
E.g.: abc123@globetrotter.net. This change must be made on your
first trip and does not have to be changed again even when you
are surfing in Québec.
In order to
be able to use your email service, you must used one of the email
software listed in the following table or software that allows the
authentication of the outgoing mail server.

Caution:
- GlobeTrotter
does not accept long-distance charges related to the use of its
service.
- Ensure that
the access number that you have selected is not outside of the
local telephone area.
- The name
of the city and the area code are not always a reliable indicator
of a toll free access.
- In certain
countries, local calls are invoiced according to their duration.
- Contact the
local Telephone Company to find out the terms of their local and
long-distance calls.
- Hours included
in your Globe Trotter subscription will only be counted
for your surfing time spent on the territory served by GlobeTrotter.
